Hi folks, after recovering an image of a partition using Acronis, from a back up I now find myself in the strange position of having no audio? I had a quick look at dell site for what I thought could have been a driver issue, but after DL the correct driver for my machine it won't let me install and the log file says its scheduled for next reboot, have tried this a few times & I'm still having no joy..Any ideas...

Audio device not installed....

W7 x64 dell vostro 470MT

Solution
I have a Dell laptop. After re-installing my os, I lost audio.
The solution I used was to install the missing Realtak HD audio driver.
See if this will help you.....

Late here... is the problem still there, or have you managed to fix it?

Solution
Also see if your Dell needs sigmatel hd audio driver.
Mine ( Dell Inspiron ) does.

Agree with David, the most probable problem is the audio device is not installed.
