Windows 7 Live Messenger occassionally does not start.

Sometimes when I boot my pc or bring it out of sleep mode I get a pop up that Live Messenger has failed to start.
I can manually start it.
How can I fix this problem?
I'm a novice and I'm using W7 Pro.

Look in Task Manager and see if it's in the list

If it doesn't start when I boot the pc it doesn't show in Task Manager.
It shows when I manually start it.
But why does it sometimes start at boot and other times not start?

What I meant was msconfig

Live Messenger is checked in the Start box of msconfig.
And the pop up I get when first starting the pc, when Live Messenger does not start, is that "Live Messenger has stopped working. There is no fix for it at this time."
But I do not get this message if I start it manually.

jUST a guess ,but Try unchecking live Messenger in mscinfig, create a shortcut and place it in your startup folder.
