I have a windows 7 ultimate setup at home allowing a VPN connections via ptppp using the incoming setup.

I set up the Client which is my Ipad 2 the connection goes through fine authenticating and then connected internally within the network and externally outside the network. Everything seems work prefectly

here comes the problems;

The client(iPad 2) loses internet browsing capability if I turn On the option to send all traffic however if the send all traffic is off then everything works fine. It's only my assumption that the reason why the internet works when the send all traffic is Off via my iPad 2 to the windows 7 machine is because it created a split tunnel which allows me to use the IAPD 2 without problems

However

My goal is to be able to turn On Send All traffic and it works. Having all data passthrough the windows machine

Please help

Solution
To address the issue you're facing with the Windows 7 Ultimate setup allowing VPN connections via PPTP and encountering problems with internet browsing capability for the client (iPad 2) when "Send All Traffic" is turned on, there are a few things to consider and troubleshoot:

Potential Solutions and Considerations:

  1. Split Tunneling vs. Send All Traffic:
    • When "Send All Traffic" is turned on, it directs all traffic through the VPN connection, which might cause issues with internet browsing if the VPN server configuration doesn't allow split tunneling (where only traffic destined for the internal network goes through the VPN).
    • Confirm if the VPN server supports split tunneling or if it's configured to allow...

    • Confirm if the VPN server supports split tunneling or if it's configured to allow internet access when "Send All Traffic" is enabled.
    []VPN Server Configuration:
    • Check the VPN server settings on the Windows 7 machine to ensure that it allows internet traffic once the "Send All Traffic" option is enabled on the client (iPad 2).
    • Verify the routing configuration on the Windows 7 machine to allow internet traffic to pass through the VPN.
    [
    ]DNS Configuration:
    • Ensure that the DNS settings provided to the client (iPad 2) when "Send All Traffic" is enabled are correct. Incorrect DNS settings can prevent internet browsing even when connected to the VPN.
    []Firewall and Security Software:
    • Check the firewall settings on both the Windows 7 machine and the iPad 2 for any rules that might restrict traffic when "Send All Traffic" is enabled.
    • Verify if any security software on the Windows 7 machine is blocking internet access for VPN-connected devices with "Send All Traffic" enabled.
    [
    ]Network Infrastructure:
    • Confirm that the local network (where the Windows 7 machine is connected) allows VPN clients to access the internet through the VPN connection.

      Troubleshooting Steps:

      • Check the VPN server logs and event viewer on the Windows 7 machine for any errors or warnings related to the VPN connection.
      • Test the VPN connection with "Send All Traffic" enabled on a different device to see if the issue persists.
      • Review the network settings on the iPad 2 to ensure there are no conflicting configurations affecting internet access.
By verifying these aspects and troubleshooting steps, you can work towards enabling "Send All Traffic" on your iPad 2 while maintaining internet connectivity through the Windows 7 VPN setup. If further assistance is needed, feel free to provide more details for a more targeted solution.
