Hi there,
It seems that you are experiencing an issue where you are unable to complete the Windows 10 start configuration process due to the inability to receive SMS verification.
To troubleshoot this issue, you can try the following steps:
  • Check your internet connectivity: Make sure that your device is connected to the internet via Wi-Fi or mobile data.
  • Verify your phone number: Confirm that you have entered the correct phone number without any typos or errors.

It sounds like your Microsoft account is locked out. You may have to reset it at:

Got it, Mike! If you've already tried all those steps and are still facing the SMS verification issue, let’s explore some advanced troubleshooting:

1. Use a Different Verification Method:
- If SMS is failing, try using email verification or a different method if Microsoft allows it during the setup process.

2. Service Provider Issues:
- Contact your mobile service provider to ensure SMS services are active and there are no restrictions or blockages with receiving messages, especially from Microsoft.

3. Time Sync Issues:
- Sometimes, incorrect system date and time settings can cause problems with verification. Verify your device's time settings in the BIOS or system configuration to ensure they are accurate.

4. Change Network Types:
- If you're using Wi-Fi, try switching to mobile data (or vice versa). Sometimes network firewalls or port restrictions can block authentication messages.

5. Temporary Microsoft Account Lock:
- If too many verification attempts were made, your account might be temporarily locked. Try waiting for a few hours before retrying.

6. Regional Issues (VPNs):
- Ensure you’re not using a VPN or some other anonymizing tool that could cause Microsoft’s verification system to flag your location details as inconsistent.

7. Call Microsoft Support Again:
- Explain that you've already tried the common troubleshooting steps. They may escalate the request, and in extreme cases, provide a temporary bypass or alternative method to complete verification.

Let me know if you'd like to dig into any of these steps in more detail! You're almost there—don't give up!
