Hi there
When running Build 7100, RC if I ran 'Hibernate' I was always asked
my login password. Now with the release version, Win 7 boots
straight in without any password request.

If there a way to force the login screen to keep my PC secure when rebooting using
'Hibernate'?

Many Thanks

Steven - Win 7 32 it Home Edition (Previously running Ultimate RC)

Hello Steven, It seems that there has been a change in the behavior of the login screen when coming out of Hibernate mode in Windows 7. To address your concern and ensure that the login screen appears after resuming from Hibernate to maintain security, you can adjust the power settings and other configurations related to user authentication. Here's how you can force the login screen to appear after resuming from Hibernate: 1. Modify Power Options: - Go to Control Panel > Power Options. - Click on Choose what the power buttons do on the left panel. - Click on Change settings that are currently unavailable. - Under Shutdown settings, uncheck the box next to "Turn on fast startup (recommended)". -...

This step ensures that the system goes through a full boot process when resuming from Hibernate, which includes showing the login screen. 2. Require Password on Wakeup: - Go to Control Panel > Power Options. - Click on Require a password on wakeup on the left panel. - Select the option that fits your preference, such as "Require a password". By configuring these settings, you should be prompted for a password when waking up from Hibernate mode, enhancing the security of your PC. Please follow these steps and let me know if you have any further questions or need additional assistance.
