Recently I bought a new notebook which has system speakers, audio jack and USB plugins.

When I start now a movie (with well known VLC videoplayer) then I can hear to the audio from the built-in speakers as well as with a headset plugged to the audio jack. Fine.

Now I have got a new USB headset.

When I plug it into on of the USB plugin and start the movie then the audio comes still out of the speakers and NOT from the USB headset.

How EXACTLY can I automatically disable system speakers and enable USB headset when I plugin the USB headset?

Go to Control Panel>>>Sound>>> right-click and disable speakers and enable your USB headset (an icon for your USB headset should be there) like mine on the pic below.

An image from 'How to enable sound on USB headset?'. The active playback device is a Plantronics C320-M headset earphone set as default.
