Hello,

Ive been searching for months for a solution to my problem but unfortunately ive been unable to solve this.

So i thought id try here.

I bought 2 sets of gaming headphones, one for myself and one for my girlfriend.

I did this because i work away and its much cheaper to talk over the internet than it is by phone.

She is using my pc which is running Windows Vista Ultimate and the recording is working fine over there.

Im using a slightly older pc which was running xp but is now on the BETA 7100 Build Windows 7.

I have the headphones on all the time the sound is great, but it just will not pick up anything in the recording devices, not even if I "Show disabled devices"

Its no where to be seen, its a line in and not a usb.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Ben.

Hi Ben,
it struck me that you may also be missing the latest drivers for your sound device which would make a difference...

My network card is a Mobile Broadband device which is powered via USB so i wouldnt think that would be a problem. (I could be wrong of course)

And ill post a screenshot of my msinfo32 - Display Window - Now :)

And if this keeps on i might even just buy a sound card.

My current sound card is integrated with the motherboard.

You didn't mention the recording device?

while i'm here though... Looking at your device manager, it looks like your missing a driver for the network...

I'm not sure why your posting the above, is there a problem with your graphics too?

Reghakr asked me to post something about Video,

Unless im going insane :P

My network device probably isnt enabled, updated or even installed.

I use a USB Connection.

And i have the "Show Disabled Devices" option ticked.

And just to make myself a little bit clearer here, an optical jack?

I dont have one of those, i have the standard green, pink, and the rest.

Thanks very much for your time and help so far guys, i appreciate it.

No worries Gooch...
Ok, when you first posted your problem you said that 7 wasn't picking up any recording devices... Are you actually using any recording devices like a mic' for instance?

Yeah, its a Creative Fatality Headset,

The microphone plugs in and out of the headset.

But it works fine on my pc at my girlfriends house.

If I remember correctly your using a Realtek onboard sound device? Well, if you check my screenshot, you'll see that ,although I'm using a different sound solution, there are settings to enable or disable mic settings.
Does the Realtek have a similar panel?

Rest easy mate x

Oh well, I guess sometimes things are just not meant to be... It could be the age maybe? (of the hardware)

Good luck with the new card..

What are you getting anyway?
