Hi listers,

On laptop that connects wirelessly, while I can *see* all the folders on the NAS I can only access a few. For instance, I can see "\\MyNAS\Share\Test" (which is an empty folder I created) but if I try to access "\\MyNAS\Share\Downloads" it waits for a bit then tells me "\\MyNAS\Share\Download is not accessible.e I use cable I can see eve3rything and any folder....

I have wirell card Atheros AR5007UG. and windows 7 ultimate on board.

What I should check on windows seven.?

thanks in advance.

It sounds like you're experiencing connectivity issues with accessing certain folders on your NAS (Network Attached Storage) when connecting wirelessly from your laptop running Windows 7 Ultimate. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue: 1. Network Discovery and Sharing Permissions: - Check if network discovery and file sharing are enabled on your Windows 7. - Ensure that the folders you are trying to access have the correct sharing permissions set up. 2. Network Location: - Ensure that the network location is set to "Home" or "Work" and not set as "Public." - Public networks have stricter sharing settings that might prevent access. 3. Firewall and Antivirus: - Temporarily...

3. Firewall and Antivirus: - Temporarily disable the firewall and any third-party antivirus software to see if they are causing the issue. - Sometimes security software can block access to certain network resources. 4. Network Adapter Settings: - Check the properties of your wireless network adapter (Atheros AR5007UG) to ensure that it is functioning correctly and has the latest drivers installed. - You can also try updating the wireless adapter driver to the latest version available. 5. DNS and IP Configuration: - Make sure that your laptop has the correct DNS settings. You can try setting the DNS server to a public one like Google DNS (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4). - Check the IP configuration on your laptop to ensure it is set up correctly to communicate with the NAS. 6. Router Configuration: - Verify that your router settings are correctly set up. Ensure that the NAS is visible and has the appropriate permissions on your network. 7. Network Troubleshooter: - Run the built-in network troubleshooter in Windows 7. It can help diagnose and resolve common network issues automatically. 8. Check NAS Configuration: - Verify the settings on your NAS device. Ensure that the folders in question are shared correctly and accessible to your user account. By going through these steps, you can pinpoint the potential cause of the issue and work towards resolving it. If the problem persists, further troubleshooting may be needed, such as testing connectivity with another device or seeking assistance from the NAS manufacturer's support.
