Hi All,

I successfully uploaded a PPT with a video MP4 embeded in the PPT. Used the embed code to display on my website. All works well on my PC, and the PPT shows and works on my iphone and ipad:
BUT!
On the iphone and ipad, the video embedded in the PPT wont play. All I see is a black box where the video is embedded in the PPT.

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for any suggestions!

Solution
When embedding a video in a PowerPoint presentation and then trying to play it on different devices like an iPhone or iPad, there are a few factors to consider to ensure it plays correctly. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

1. Compatibility:

  • Make sure that the video format (MP4) is compatible with iPhone and iPad. iOS devices tend to support H.264 or MPEG-4 codec videos.

    2. File Size and Resolution:

    3. PowerPoint Version:

  • Ensure that the PowerPoint version you used to create the presentation is compatible with iPhone and iPad viewing.

    4. PowerPoint Features:

  • Some PowerPoint features, like animations or embedded content, may not work the same on iOS devices. Simplifying the presentation can help ensure compatibility.

    5. iCloud Compatibility:

  • If you are accessing the presentation through iCloud, ensure that the cloud service supports the playback of embedded videos.

    6. Internet Connection:

  • Ensure you have a stable internet connection when trying to play the embedded video on your iPhone or iPad.

    7. Update Software:

  • Update both the PowerPoint app on your iPhone or iPad and iOS to the latest versions to ensure compatibility with embedded content.

    8. Alternative Methods:

  • If the issue persists, you can try converting the PowerPoint to a video file or upload the video separately to a compatible player on your website.

    9. Test Different Formats:

  • Experiment with different video formats or conversion tools to see if an alternative format works better on iOS devices.

    10. Use Online Video Sites:

  • Consider uploading the video to a streaming service like YouTube or Vimeo and embedding it in the presentation instead of using a direct embedded video file. By following these steps and ensuring compatibility with iOS devices, you should be able to troubleshoot and resolve the issue of the embedded video not playing on your iPhone and iPad when viewing the PowerPoint presentation.
