I am wanting to install a logon tweak for my computer but to do it I need to replace files in the Windows folder. It won't let me do this though. It says that the file is already open in another program when I try to do a drag and drop replace.
Please help me fix this.

If it is not too confidential, you will have to tell us what the file(s) is??

Here are the files and their paths:
C:\Windows\System32\authui.dll
C:\Windows\Branding\Basebrd\basebrd.dll

You'd neet to change permissions,

But again, as Davehc said it's not safe to do so.

And to add. If you do go ahead and take ownership. I would reccomend you copy the files to a safe place before going ahead with the hack. You may need them back again!
No rudeness intended, but I would not mess with system files, merely to change the logon.
