Hi,

I'm currently using Windows 7 RC build 7100 64 bit.

My PC setup is HD4850, E8400 on ASUS P5Q SE Plus. 4GB Ram

I am having problems with typing in Windows Live Messager and Chrome.

Both softwares works fine at bootup. However, after a while i will experience lag in openning up chat windows or even typing in textbox in both Chrome and MSN.

All these while just surfing net and using microsoft office with Outlook.

Solution

The lag you are encountering when typing in text boxes and opening chat windows could be due to various reasons. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can take to address these problems:

    2. Update Chrome and Windows Live Messenger

  • Make sure you are using the latest versions of Google Chrome and Windows Live Messenger. Outdated software versions can sometimes cause performance issues.

    3. Check for Malware

  • Perform a full system scan using Windows Defender or a reputable antivirus program to check for any malware or viruses that might be affecting your system's performance.

    4. Manage Startup Programs

  • Check the programs that are set to run at startup. Disable any unnecessary programs to free up system resources.

    5. Check for Resource Usage

  • Monitor your system's resource usage (CPU, memory, disk usage) using Task Manager. Look for any processes consuming high resources that might be causing the lag.

    6. Clear Browser Cache

  • Clear the cache and browsing history in Google Chrome to improve its performance.

    7. Check for Browser Extensions

  • Disable or remove any unnecessary browser extensions in Chrome that could be causing conflicts.

    8. Hardware Considerations

  • Your hardware setup (HD4850, E8400, 4GB RAM) is decent for Windows 7, but you may consider upgrading to improve overall performance. By following these steps, you can troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the lag issues you are experiencing with Windows Live Messenger and Chrome on your Windows 7 system.
