Hello
I read an article about the above topic and tried to figure this out with Google etc. unsuccessfully.
I went to PC Settings>SkyDrive>Synch and there were 10 items checked on. I really don't understand which should be on or off.
I don't really trust the cloud but have used SkyDrive before for videos which was barely satisfactory.
My question is, should I leave them all on by default or are there any which could compromise my documents etc.?
Thank you
Peter

Hello Peter, It's understandable to have concerns about cloud storage and syncing settings, especially when it comes to sensitive documents. Here are some general guidelines to help you decide which settings to enable or disable in SkyDrive (now known as OneDrive): 1. File Syncing: - File Explorer Integration: Allows you to access OneDrive files directly from File Explorer. This is generally safe to have on. - Sync All Files and Folders in OneDrive: This setting syncs all files and folders in your OneDrive to your PC. If you have limited storage space or only want specific files synced, you may want to disable this and choose specific folders instead. 2. Account Sync: - Start OneDrive Automatically when I Sign...

Account Sync: - Start OneDrive Automatically when I Sign in to Windows: This setting controls whether OneDrive automatically starts when you boot up your PC. If you prefer to start it manually, you can turn this off. 3. Settings: - Automatically Save Photos and Videos to OneDrive: This setting automatically uploads photos and videos from your device to OneDrive. If you don't want all your media automatically uploaded, you can turn this off. - Use Office to Sync Office Files that I Open: This setting is useful if you frequently use Office documents. It ensures that changes are saved directly to OneDrive. If you don't use Office much, you can consider turning this off. 4. Backups: - Backup tab provides options for backing up folders like Desktop, Documents, and Pictures to OneDrive. You can choose to enable or disable these backups based on your needs. In general, it's advisable to enable settings that enhance convenience without compromising security or privacy. If you have concerns about specific settings, it's best to research them further or seek guidance from official Microsoft resources. Would you like more detailed instructions on specific settings in OneDrive, or do you need assistance with any particular setting?
