Hi, I'm new to the forums!

For the last fortnight I've been struggling with my new laptop that I ordered before I finally had the idea to look for a place just like this. I bought a Dell Inspiron 1545 Laptop, and I can't get it to connect to our wireless internet. It came with Vista installed, but I've just upgraded to 7, I couldn't connect with either system though. I'm trying to connect to a SpeadStream 6520 Wireless ADSL Gateway. I've tried adding it using a USB key - and it says that my laptop has been successfully added to the network, but I then can't connect. I've also tried entering in the details manually, still with no success. I was wondering if anyone could help me? I'm so confused with it all now.

Thanks in advance.

Troubleshoot Network: Use Windows 7 network troubleshooter to diagnose and fix common connection problems. You can access this by right-clicking on the network icon in the system tray and selecting "Troubleshoot problems." 5. Reset Network Settings: You can reset the network settings on your laptop by typing "cmd" in the Start menu, right-clicking on Command Prompt, and selecting "Run as administrator." Then, run the following commands: - netsh winsock reset - netsh int ip reset - Restart your computer after running these commands. 6. Check Firewall Settings: Ensure that your firewall settings are not blocking the connection to the wireless network. 7. Update Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your SpeedStream 6520 Gateway that might address compatibility issues.
